Sembol Insaat that continues its investments in Kazakhstan without slowing down completed Khazrat Sultan Mosque, the biggest and the most magnificent mosque in the country. AT the opening ceremony held with the participation of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev Sembol Insaat Chairman Fettah Tamince was also present.
Sembol Insaat, one of Turkey’s leading construction companies, completed the construction of Khazrat Sultan Mosque with capacity of 8 thousand people, the biggest one in the country’s capital of Kazakhstan, Astana. The opening of the mosque took place on 06 July, the birthday of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Addressing tens of thousands of people gathered at the opening ceremony, Nazarbayev said that after Kazakhstan had gained the independence, they gave all kinds of support for people to carry out their religious worship freely. Nazarbayev stated that Islam was always close to science and knowledge, so he said that there were bookshelves and classrooms at the Khazrat Sultan Mosque to serve people.
Fettah Tamince: “We will continue to serve Kazakhstan by continuing our investments”.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Fettah Tamince stated that they were proud of constructing important structures that had recently been built in Kazakhstan and stated that “We on behalf of Sembol Insaat completed successfully important structures such as Astra Arena Stadium, Khan-Shatyr, Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, Rixos President Astana, Independence Palace, National Military Academy, Nazarbayev University and Astana Media Center in a short time. We on behalf of Sembol Insaat accomplished cultural, military and social structures that became the symbol of the country. And today, we present the biggest mosque of Kazakhstan, Astana Khazrat Sultan Mosque to Kazakhstan, we will continue to serve Kazakhstan by continuing our investments.”
Capacity of 8 thousand people
Khazrat Sultan Mosque, which has a total capacity of 17 thousand square meters and has a capacity of 8 thousand people, has four minarets with a height of 77 meters and in total 10 domes with a height of 52 meters. In addition to the worship sections of the mosque built as a social facility, there are facilities such as condolence halls, libraries, wedding halls, archives, lodgings, offices, and dining hall for 400 people, VIP rooms, hand foot drying and slipper rooms.
